Pipeline Projects in Sudan

China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Co., Ltd.(CPP) have built four pipeline Projects as EPC contractor in Sudan: 1506km pipeline at Blocks 1/2/4, 723km pipeline at Block 6, 172km pipeline at Block 5B, and 242.2km of section A1 and 77km of section B2 at Blocks 3/7. These pipelines go through various terrains including tropical rain forest, the Sayarra desert, the Nile river, and the Red Sea hills.

Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline Project

The consortium of CPP and CPECC (China Petroleum Engineering Construction Corporation) constructed the Abu Dhabi crude oil pipeline project in UAE. The pipeline begins from Habashan Oilfield in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, and ends at Fujairah Port where crude oil is shipped abroad, with its design capacity of 1.5 million barrels per day.

The 48” pipeline with a total length of 305km includes13 valve stations, traversing through various terrains such as saline-alkali soil, sand dunes, Gobi and mountains. Within this project, ten 169,000m³ floating roof tanks were erected in the first and terminal stations.

Ahdeb Crude Oil Pipeline Project in Iraq

Located in Iraq’s southwest, Ahdeb oil field is the first one opening for international cooperation after wars. Line 4, constructed by CPP, runs 190 kilometers from Nasiriyah Depot in the west to Tuba Tank Farm in the east. The X60-garde 42” pipeline with the thickness of 12.7mmincludes six valve stations, one solar system and two sets of CP system, and in its first and final station, there are respectively equipped with pig launcher/receiver station, various valve chambers and electrical systems.

Halfaya Gas Export Pipeline

The Halfaya Gas Export Pipeline Project (GEXL) was the first pipeline transporting wet sour gas built by CPP.

The project was mechanically completed on October 28, 2012, and the gas receiving station was put into operation on February 11, 2013.gas has been successfully supplied to the downstream power plants since February 17, 2013.

GEXL was the first project in Missan Province that utilized natural gas resources for civil power generation. It transferred the wet sour natural gas from Central Processing Facility (CPF1) in oilfield through the new 24-inch pipeline to Gas Receiving Station (GRS), where gas is separated, filtered, heated and metered before sent to the Khala power plant to feed gas turbines, and the separated condensate is sent back from GRS to the CPF1 via a 3-inch pipeline. The project was awarded to CPP on November 21, 2011.

Block H Crude Oil Pipeline in Chad

Chad block H crude oil pipeline runs311 kilometers long from block Block H to N'Djamena refinery, and possesses an initial station at central processing facility (CPF) in Block H, Ronier Oilfield, one terminal station in N'Djamena refinery, and 8 valve stations, of which there are 3 RTU valve stations, 5 common valve stations, and 4 cathodic protection stations.

This API 5L X60 HFW pipeline with the diameter of 406.4mm is designed as 100×104t/a, which may reach 300×104t/a in future and its design pressure is 10MPa. This project has adopted a process that the crude oil is heated at CPF and transported through airtight pipeline with no heating stations along the line.

The project has won gold medal of petroleum quality project in 2014, and 2013-2014 national quality engineering award (international projects).
